After reading his father’s blog, Adam is stunned and angry to learn that Cathy had an affair. And while Paul only seems concerned about how many readers are following his online diary, Cathy insists that their son know the whole truth about their mutual infidelities. Meanwhile, as Andrea looks to restart the high school’s defunct Black Student Association, Adam considers joining a campus Bible study group. And now that Sean is working as a janitor at the school, Cathy presses him to get a phone so she doesn’t have to field his work-related calls. But after plugging in a discarded phone he salvaged from school, Sean is quickly deluged by calls for someone named Willy. Uninterested in his mom’s attempts to explain herself, Adam shows up at the Bible group where he’s quickly put at ease by his fellow students, particularly a hip, cute and provocative girl named Jesse. And after recounting the serial tragedies that now constitute his life, Adam welcomes the group’s irreverence.
