Siemens’ Vectron family of locomotives were designed as a modular platform to suit the needs of any rail operator in Europe, available in multiple mode options. Collectively to date, over 2000 Vectrons have been ordered for use by more than 50 different companies, making the family a well-known and familiar sight for all railfans.
Railpool, a leasing group based in Germany, was the first company to order the Vectron, and now has over 100 on order, mainly of the Multi-system variety, to suit the needs of any operator that may need to lease motive power for heavy-duty service.
