A Dapper Escape from the Daily Grind
Long work weeks, hard times, unpaid bills... Drifting off at the bar in a 50s lounge, the noise of the world fades into a surreal dream: a dapper, pipe-smoking winged hippo floating effortlessly through a world of live jazz.
Hippo Hop is a relaxed 2D precision flyer set across 14 handcrafted, mid-century-inspired stages. Think of it less like an intense obstacle course and more like an interactive musical album. Each level offers its own distinct jazz track, colorful light-show, and bespoke flavor of flight-line chaos through screen-printed jazz instruments. Flap to stay aloft, lean into the groove, and weave through the tight spaces between glowing trumpets, trombones, and upright basses.
The flight physics are simple to pick up, but deceptive to master. Glowing drink pickups alter your momentum on the fly—Beer mugs tucked in a corner for bonus points, speed-altering martinis, or whiskey which makes you see double. Meanwhile, the intrusive thoughts of daily life occasionally drift into your flight path as floating bills, but a quick puff of smoke will clear your mind your path.
Whether you’re here to zone out and fidget along to live brass riffs, or push your reflexes for a flawless Platinum Rank run, the lounge is open. Grab a drink, adjust your top hat, and let the music carry you.
