Operate Amtrak’s flagship service on the Northeast Corridor. The Acela® service offers the fastest and most direct connection along the East Coast of the US and makes easy work of the route, being able to reach speeds up to 150 mph.
The Acela trainset itself is a marvel of engineering. The design is derived from the famed TGV, albeit with changes to meet US requirements. The intermediate coaches are equipped with active tilting technology allowing for travel at higher speeds. A total of 20 Acela trainsets were built for use on the Northeast Corridor.
Experience high-speed action on the fastest stretch between Boston and Providence or serve the megalopolis hub between New York and Trenton.
