      Night Book — Cross-buy — screenlife-style FMV

Night Book is one of three Wales Interactive published FMVs filmed remotely during lockdown, giving it a screenlife-style presentation (the story plays out entirely through screens and devices). However, unlike the two other Wales Interactive published titles Five Dates and Who Pressed Mute on Uncle Marcus? that are actually good, this one is just terrible. The acting is weak, nearly all playthroughs are practically identical apart from a few scenes, and most of the endings feel so similar that choices end up feeling pointless. In my opinion, this is the worst FMV title altogether. It is cross-buy, so purchasing it gives you both the PS4 and PS5 versions. It very frequently goes on sale for under £4, often cheaper than the other Wales Interactive published FMVs. If you’re collecting them all or don’t mind seeing for yourself, that’s a good price to try it at. Otherwise, if repetition and limited variation bother you, I’d strongly suggest skipping this one.

Night Book is an interactive thriller about an online interpreter who is tricked into reading an ancient book that summons a demon into her home.

Loralyn works the night shift remotely from her home, live interpreting video calls from English to French and back again. Currently pregnant, with a husband working far away and caring for her mentally ill father, she is desperately trying to keep her family together and safe – but who is she prepared to sacrifice to survive? The fiancé, the baby, her father or herself?
