Update 1.6.0.1 (19-Feb-2026) now a great driving game

I pre-ordered the Year 1 bundle and at launch there was a lot not right so the early reviews to me are fair. Straight 4 have been very busy with a number of updates and as of the latest 1.6.0.1 Project Motor Racing for me is what I want it to be. I have GT7, ACC, AC, PCars1, PCar2 and now PMR. With the update I prefer PMR to all the others. The AI is competitive (with the usual sim first corner out of the way), the online lobbies are better, car handling has been refined and the default setups provided are usable. In addition there is a load of free downloads. Liveries, modded cars, setups, custom championships, with more to come. At the 1.6.0.0 update I played PMR, ACC and GT7. After playing PMR the other 2 felt wrong even thought I've far more hours in them. Now with 1.6.0.1 it's even better. More communicative of what's going on underneath you. Is it perfect, no, but then no sim racing game is perfect as we all want different things from them and so choices are made on what to priorities. Is it really enjoyable to play. Absolutely. Excited for the JAPANESE GT500 PACK expected in Q1 2026 to add more cars and tracks. If you like sim racing and are looking for something to get stuck into PMR is a great option. Finally, if I'm not mistaken it's the only sim on PS5 that has Sebring, Canadian Tire Motorway Park, Lime Rock Park, Lexington (Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course). Sebring for me was a big draw as I kept seeing iRacing players having a blast on this track and wanted to try it myself.

Nowhere near finished

After all the hype surrounding this title, what they actually released was a pre beta effort, it is un useable. Can't even get my money back.
