Feedback from a casual solo player: The game has left us behind, and it's no longer fun.
I’m writing this because I used to absolutely love Diablo 4, but the recent updates have completely pushed me out of the game. I want to share my experience as a casual, solo player who doesn't care about leaderboards, achievements, or competitive min-maxing. I just want to log in, slay some monsters, and have a relaxing time.
Right now, the game feels "stupid hard" for no reason, even on the lowest difficulties. Here is what the new player experience actually feels like for someone like me:
1. Mandatory "Super Player" Synergy from Minute One:
It feels like you expect us to have top-tier skills and a perfectly synergized build from the very first minute we start a character. I switched to a Barbarian hoping for an easier time, but it’s still a struggle. You shouldn't need a spreadsheet and endgame gear just to make the early game bearable.
2. Seasonal Content is Overtuned:
I am playing on a very easy difficulty, but seasonal encounters like the Realmwalkers still feel like massive damage sponges. It takes forever to kill them, and it completely ruins the pacing and fun of the game.
3. The Loss of the Casual Experience:
I used to be able to progress, create powerful characters, and eventually get Mythic items on my own time. Now, I haven't even been able to get past Tier 1 in the last few updates. The game demands that you play like a hardcore streamer just to survive.
I paid good money for this game, and I genuinely feel sorry that I did because the identity of the game has fundamentally changed into something that is no longer enjoyable for a casual player. Please remember that not everyone playing your game is a hardcore competitive player. Some of us just want a fun escape, and right now, Diablo 4 is just a source of stress.
