The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is a mystery FMV where the standout feature is its option to type your own questions — a very cool and unusual mechanic. Instead of only choosing preset dialogue options, you can ask almost anything you think of. You can keep probing with questions or just ask what’s needed to progress the story; it’s completely up to you. To help combat spoilers and boost replay value, the murderer is generated at random from six suspects each playthrough, though some players may find the pacing boring or slow because of the amount of dialogue and investigation. While the acting is generally very good, the game does revolve around stereotypes related to mental health. It’s not disrespectful, offensive, or derogatory in an obvious way, but people should be aware of this before buying and playing. There is no violence, just some mild bad language and references to mental health themes. The game carries an age rating of PEGI 12 / ESRB: T. For whatever reason, this is one of the only Wales Interactive FMVs without a cross-buy or native PS5 version, so if cross-buy or a PS5 version matters to you, this should be noted. Lastly, it very frequently goes on sale for under £5, making it an easy pick for fans of narrative mysteries who don’t mind a slower pace. A unique entry for mystery lovers who enjoy typed‑input investigation — just be aware that its style and pacing won’t be for everyone.

YOU are a psychiatrist, trying to solve a murder whilst treating the unusual patients of the recently deceased Doctor Dekker. Ask any questions and collect the evidence as you uncover the identity of the randomly generated murderer whilst trying to figure out the chaos that was left behind.

The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker is a Lovecraftian FMV murder mystery, which gives players full freedom to question suspects by typing their own questions or by picking from a predetermined list.
