Shenmue I & II, first released in 2000 and 2001 for Dreamcast, is an open world action-adventure game including Jiu-Jitsu fight, detective investigation, role-playing and good old mini-games.
It led a trend of games these days in various aspects, also is a pioneer of open-world genre and "QTE (Quick Timer Event)". It is an origin of open world game and includes day/night cycle, weather change, opening/closing of shops, and NPCs who have their own schedules.
Shenmu has a lot of fans in the fascinated scenario and lively world, and keeps the position of "the best game ever".
