Van bescheiden kolonie tot economische hegemonie: Carthago ontwikkelde zich vanaf de kusten van Noord-Afrika om de Middellandse Zee te domineren. De gestroomlijnde schepen voeren tot de uithoeken van de wereld, maar thuis was de stad Carthago vooral bekend om de meestervaklieden en diepgaande landbouwkennis. Concurrentie met eerst Griekenland en daarna Rome zorgde voor vermaarde generaals en een machtige marine. Maar oorlog zorgde voor de ondergang, de stad werd verwoest in 146 v.Chr

Unieke eigenschap - Fenicisch erfgoed: kan maar één stad hebben. Dorpen kunnen 'Converteer naar Stad' niet gebruiken. Als je een Handelaar of Kolonist eenheid maakt, krijg je een kopie van die eenheid.
