Skyrim but better

I use to spend a lot of time in skyrim and morrowind building up my base and exploring the world. This game has everything and it just takes a little bit of time to learn how all the systems come together. Travelling around and exploring the world has been the most fun I have had so far but I really like how the town system functions. It doesn't feel like a chore to invest into the greymane base.

Game for people who love games

First of all, the devs have been very very quick to address user feedback such as adding storage, automatically collecting minerals you mine, reducing the stamina usage when gliding, nerfing certain bosses, adding more fast travel points, and so forth. It's insane how many QOL improvements this game has seen in a week. Secondly, the game does take some time to get into, it does not hold your hand, and you are likely to feel a bit overwhelmed by the numerous mechanics. Don't worry. The game is actually paced very well in dealing with this. Thirdly, if you've played something like RDR 2 you'll be fine with the controls. RDR 2 has more button combinations to achieve something than this. It's really not that confusing. Some of the controls, however, are a bit questionable; like gathering an item being bound to the same button as jump. Finally, once you're in chapter 2 or 3, just pick a direction and go an adventure. See what's out there and get lost. Don't even take your horse. Just walk.

I’m obsessed

Day one I would rate this 3.5 stars. After playing a while, exploring and learning the combat it’s grown into 5 stars. I’m Constantly thinking about it when I’m not playing

A Diamond in the rough

A little buggy at the start, control choices were a big clunky. An experience that continues to captivate me. Devs were extremely fast in making fixes and listening to the community. A game hasn't held my attention this strong for about 10 years.

Amazing Experience

This game has me regularly stopping to marvel at what Pearl Abyss has done. Not since KCD2 or RDR2 have I been this engrossed in a crafted world. If you like open worlds that welcome you into explore and get lost, baring a bit of a learning curve for the controls and a story that is ok, this is a game you must experience. Highly recommend.

Fantastic Open World Game!

This game is amazing! The biggest tip I can give you is do not only focus on the main quest line or you will suffer. If you work on finding your Greymane members and building your camp, that acts as your tutorial and introduction to SO many things that you may be searching for online. It teaches you things and shows you key locations. It teaches you how to get a pet, which loots things for you, which is a huge help! No micro transactions, not BS, just a wonderful huge world to explore, solve puzzles in, quest, and just try cool stuff like jumping, flying, using your nature blast to get mining nodes on a cliff face you can’t stand on. This game does have some issues, but the dev has already addressed most of the issues that people have complained about within 10 days. If they keep this level of support and customer service, it SHOULD be Game of the Year! The other thing this game as is a LOT of things to control and they do not map out those controls on PlayStation like other similar games, and not having it so you can remap them day one was a steep learning curve coming from playing another open world game, but I’m already getting used to the controls, but if and when they allow remapping, this game will be 9.5/10. I can only give up to a 5 rating here, but with how well this has run since launch, I’m not going to knock off a star. You should definitely understand that this is not a game from a Western developer and is created in South Korea, so they have a different culture and are not pandering the game they envision to Western DEI nonsense. The game is about exploration, combat, quests, etc., not sexuality and genders. This game is massive and IGN was completely wrong with their reviews. IGN is the CNN of game news these days and has no credibility. They are saying it was bad at launch which is completely inaccurate. It is much more playable than Cyberpunk was and within 10 days it is even more drastically improved. The things that aren't that polished are the voice acting on the cutscenes and they tend to keep things brief. This “less is more” philosophy adds to the game in my opinion, because I don't feel there should be lots of hand holding in an open world game, because then you get pushed to 'their' story instead of creating your own. There does need to be a certain balance of this so you can at least get an understanding of the systems and how to play. This is a game where you should get distracted by all the side quests, faction quests, etc. Just go explore. Doing that will let you get all the items that will grant you skill points and you will uncover the fast travel locations so when you do work on the main story line, you can get around more easily and will be better prepared to face the battles and bosses in them.

Fantastic and Immersive

This is probably my favorite game of the past 10 years. Its huge open world with just enough story is easy to get lost in. The kind of game you start playing for 20 minutes and then you've lost 4 hours. Playing on base PS5 on performance (120hz TV) and it runs just fine. I expect to be able to spend hundreds and hundreds of hours in this game exploring everything and still find something new each time. I recommend it to all my friends that like fantasy games.
