Ghost of Yōtei™

This game is truly outstanding of this generation in every way. It builds on Ghost of Tsushima with new weapons and fighting tactics like throwing melee weapons and performing chain assassinations with kunai. You can even call a wolf friend to aid in battles when taking down camps or when facing off against enemies. The landscapes are simply breathtaking where you can spend hours taking photographs. The grass, the flowers, and the snow are extremely realistic. You get a wide variety of armor and charms too. The armor gives you the flexibility to customize Atsu’s appearance to your liking. And the charms give you the edge to configure your build based on your need, like melee or defense or assassinations. The music composition is entertaining too during the cut scenes and the wolf hunts. And the story is very well written. It is totally different than Ghost of Tsushima. It takes place nearly 3 centuries after the original. Some of the side tales and even the main tale will bring tears to your eyes. I rated this game slightly lower than a perfect score of a 10. The katana in this game is underwhelming compared to Ghost of Tsushima because it takes a long time to build up the power attack, giving enemies enough time to attack. And sometimes the dialogue in the side tales are a little boring and sometimes a visitor will show up when you camp with your horse to rest and you have to bear through all the dialogue. The game should have allowed a way to skip the individual conversations. Overall, this is a must-play game of the PS5 generation and takes the gameplay and visuals of Ghost of Tsushima to another level.

This is an amazing game without a doubt. Visuals, soundtrack, gameplay is all top notch. The gameplay mechanics are still extremely similar to the first game which makes it hard to “feel” like a fresh game. I can’t seem to remember if there’s anything new that takes it to the next level up. The story unfortunately is extremely predictable, but it’s not bad at all. The ending definitely had me in shock but I think I enjoyed the ending of Tsushima a lot more.

Played through the story and enjoyed it well enough. Pretty much matches its predecessor. But the post game got me HOOKED. I couldn't stop playing until I got the Platinum. SO WORTH every penny.

Such a beautiful game. Never got bored with the storyline and there was so much to do. I couldn't put it down!

I came for the tight gameplay and was greeted to a well told story as well. Absolutely loved my entire experience with Atsu! She's a beast!!
