NBA 2K27

I wanted to love this game. I put hundreds of hours into build-crafting, which used to be the soul of 2K. Instead I got a masterclass in squeezing your most loyal players. $250 in: $100 for the game, $150 in VC. Then patch 2.0 dropped and fundamentally changed everything, the contests are ruined, and it’s a complete meta reset from the game I actually bought. The badge specialization system and new token and synergy system was mysterious and on purpose they don’t explain it very well so that you get locked earned tokens behind choices the game never properly explained — permanent, no take-backs. Support's answer, twice user error, case closed. No refund, no credit, no accountability. Then Season 2: GOAT builds that cost ~$150 in VC to actually max to 99 — a forced meta reset five days after I spent 370k VC on my custom build. Free to create, $150 to compete. This isn't a basketball game anymore, it's a slot machine wearing a jersey. Save your money until 2K remembers who actually made them rich.

It's a LOT of cry babies complaining about the game, but if you ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND basketball, this is the best 2k in almost 10 years. No more of that unrealistic score at will no matter how tough the defense was crap. People are mad because they can't shoot a 3pt with two defenders on them and then complain about how they should've "greened" it regardless. They've finally incorporated BASKETBALL back into the game and people are mad and that's the honest truth. I say to all those people that used to say "get your skills up" go and actually learn the game and "get your knowledge up!" Thank you 2k for weeding out the people that's never played a sport in their lives and thought they were elite because they could time holding a button. I 100% recommend buying this game if you actually love the game of basketball.

No reason to buy since the game is in shambles. All the fixes people want don't get fixed even when the patch notes say it should fix it.

2K is a company that actually preys upon its customers. They will permanently ban you for something, provide absolutely zero evidence of the wrong doing they accuse you of, and then will not provide any sort of refund. They are thieves, plain and simple. The nice part, NBA 2K27 is absolutely terrible anyways. They stole money for me like so many others. The best part is, there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it. They don’t care in the slightest. Poor product and poor employees. Don’t waste your time and money.

I grew up playing 2k's 16-20, and the ability to move and shoot felt so much more fluid. I was looking forward to this 2k with the amount of stars in the league this upcoming season. But the gameplay now is so much more difficult and feels like I have to master a command board, making games feel much more slow if I want to do well. I miss not having to pull left trigger on a pass to knock down a catch and shoot three. What happen to my double tap square to get a driving layup? You want to try and double team on someone posting up, the game won't let you steal the ball even though you clearly have the jump on them. I don't need my virtual basketball games to be this difficult. It just isn't worth the 70+ dollars imo.

Terrible game. The gameplay is bad and it feels like the same recycled stuff from the previous games. Barely anything changes every year but they still expect people to pay full price for it. Save your money. It'll probably end up free on PlayStation Plus anyway.

How on earth can mechanics and gameplay get so substantially worse and clunkier than 10-20 years ago? 2k10-2k17 were way better than this and by quite a bit. Mechanics are just terrible now, not to mention VC for everything, cheesy "Goat" skills, and just lazy modes.
