A phenomenal mind-bending experience.

LiS1 is an absolutely amazing game. Albeit, a while not rushed, but kind of dumb ending kind of soils the "Choices Matter" aspect of it all. But, this game is amazing besides that one gripe of mine. The graphics aren't bad, especially when you consider that this game is now 11 years old and make this game easy to play and are impressive in certain sections and even if you're on a universally crappy device or console, you can expect little to no issue. The gameplay isn't the most unique. Or, not the most unique rather, but not the most creative as the game unfolds. It usually consists of walking around and talking to people to advance the game, doing some specific objectives that are very rarely at all difficult, making a big choice that can change a LOT (unless it's on Episode Five) and potentially rewinding to solve a puzzle, fix something you shouldn't have done or something else that rewinding can help you with. The gameplay is unique to an extent, but can feel repetitive at times. The characters are surprisingly impressive. This game did come out after The Walking Dead: The Complete First Season and Season Two from Telltale, so we already had an example of likable characters with great development across two great games, but this game did the same thing and almost as amazing as it did, with maybe slightly less well. Max Caulfield, the character you play as, is a total retro photo geek and is the poster girl of awkwardness and portrays it really memorably and charmingly. Chloe Price, Max's "best friend" who she ghosted for five years prior to the events of the game, is complex. She can be extremely unlikable at the beginning of the game, but goes through great development through the course of the season and goes from immature and obnoxious to mature, understanding and likable (albeit, regressing at times and going back to being annoying). And there's so many other characters, who don't have much screentime, but characters like Warren Graham, Kate Marsh, Victoria Chase, Nathan Prescott and Mark Jefferson also have their own stories that while aren't as expanded as Max and Chloe's, they're still clear in their own regard and both devastating and interesting. The story, which should've been the FIRST thing I deconstructed is phenomenal. It has a lot of twists and turns that shocked a LOT of the games' playerbase, myself included, and is very easy to grasp and get as the game plays out and it doesn't feel like it's dragging itself out. It all feels like it connects properly and it's seriously impressive that a game like this came out like it did. Honestly, this game was seriously impressive. I think it did great, especially for (if I'm right) DONTNOD's first game or just first game to really blow up as it did. It honestly felt completely worth the money I spent on it on my PS4, Xbox and now Switch and I love it

Just play it.

Loved the story and the characters. The concepts is handled well, and the attention to detail is truly amazing. The love behind this game is what truly makes it stand out.

A Masterpiece of Visuals, Sound, and Storytelling

When I first started playing, I thought it would be boring and unappealing because of its naïve aesthetic—but that was just a prejudice. From the second scene onward, it completely captured my attention. I discovered a game with stunning visuals, a charming soundtrack, incredible sound effects, and a truly spectacular story. Every time the screen turns red, accompanied by the sound effects, you feel the tension of making a decision that will mark a turning point in the characters’ lives. Captivating and thrilling at every moment, a true work of art.
