Brings me back to my child hood!

I remember when I 1st play Halo back in day as a kid on Xbox. The realitives and I would play all the time. Not that it's back and on Playstation yet total fun again and get share the fun with my own kids. Graphics way better now. Total 5 start on my end. Hope they bring all other Halos to ps5.

Requires a Microsoft account

The page on PlayStation Store does not mention that this game requires a Microsoft account to play. I do not have a Microsoft account (I don't run Windows) and I do not want to get a Microsoft account. But because I've already downloaded the game (to play it) PlayStation says I am not eligible for a refund? Say goodbye to my $55

Don't listen to legacy Halo fans

The game is beautiful and that goes a long way. The gameplay is very satisfying and similar to Halo Infinite. It's important to keep in mind that Halo was built on it's social experiences, so if you don't have friends to play with, you might find yourself running out of fun once you've completed the game twice. Remix mode adds a healthy amount of replay ability though. There are valid criticism to be made. -the A.I. can be underwhelming at times, but is passable -it's valid to have certain gripes with the voice acting, I personally am not satisfied with Sgt. Johnsons new VA. But again it is passable. -the game obviously would benefit greatly from a PvP multi-player experience. But Halo Studios has undergone a whirlwind of changes and I'm sure we can expect PvP moving forward from here. -The prequel missions are underwhelming. They certainly are not bad, but they do feel a little filler. I'm not gonna touch on people's claims of wokeness from a particular character, I find that ridiculous and blown out of proportion. Overall if you just want to be able to play Halo again with a fresh coat of paint and updated gameplay mechanics, definitely pick it up. Halo unfortunately is plagued by a fanbase of 30 year olds who just want Bungie back and want to go back to 2007. But if you can allow yourself to just sit down and enjoy a video game, this a great Halo experience. 👍

Microsoft Slop

What could have been a really fun visual upgrade to a timeless classic turned into the same old Microsoft slop. While the game does look much better than the original, the race swapping, and adding an insufferable character in the bonus missions drags it down. Not to mention how the game literally won’t allow you to play it unless you sign into a Microsoft account. I’d understand if it was just for the online coop but if I want to play offline single player I shouldn’t need an online login. But hey Microsoft needs to data scrape lol. I hate to say it cuz Ubisoft usually puts out their own slop but black flag resynced is a lot better remake than this in terms of execution and minimizing the slop. It’s still fun to play the main campaign in this as opposed to the bonus missions, and the soundtrack still goes so hard, and I’m glad I get to play it on PlayStation after the glory days on 360, but this should be $30 not $50.

No multiplayer = no value

$50 for campaign mode is absolute absurdity. I regret not doing more research and understanding I would be massively overpaying for a game with such limited functionality, but I assumed that any video game in 2026 would have the basic decency to have an online multiplayer mode where all the fun is. Be very warned that replayability is extremely low. $10 would be the appropriate sticker price here for this quick injection of nostalgia

Shoot Alien Face

If you ever want a game to just chill with your buds after a long day, this is it. The many different modifiers make replayability a real treat, especially in co-op where everything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Needless to say, this game has been some of the most fun I've had with co-op in a long time. The game is fairly short, maybe 8-10hr campaign if you take your sweet time. A few negatives I have are that there is a few frame drops and graphic hitches on areas with a lot going on, mostly big group fights during outside areas towards the back half of the game. Setting up a MIcrosoft account can be a pain if you don't already have one. If this is your first Halo game, you may not like the general feel as it still kind of plays like the classic game from the early 2000s with a modern revamp from some of the more recent Halo titles that bring it to a sort of middle ground. Overall I am enjoying my time and recommend it. If you don't want to jump in now, wait for a sale.

In memory of my brother.

I absolutely love Halo, all the games. And all versions. My brother got me hooked when we were kids. I was 6 when the original first came out. And ever since I was hooked. I love the new missions in this. I think this game is enhanced more to look more realistic than the original. My brother passed away from suicide in 2023 and I play Halo in memory of him. To keep his legacy going.
