Great game made FANTASTIC in VR!
Resident Evil 4 Remake is a great game, which is made even more immersive, action-packed and sometimes even more terrifying when combined with the PlayStation VR2!
Everything about the game is just amplified 100 times when playing it on a PS VR2. Capcom does a fantastic job at recreating the original game's mechanics for VR, to the point where I would say the game is actually more fun in VR, since all of those third-person, clunky controls, where you have to control a character have been adapted to the point where you feel like you actually *are* Leon S. Kennedy.
Pulling a magnum off your hip, or slinging a sniper rifle over your shoulder never gets old, making you feel like like a badass even in those less tense situations. Sneaking around corners, holding your flashlight and pistol with crossed hands makes me feel like I'm an agent in an action-horror movies, only it's actually me holding those weapons and I'm the one making all the decisions of how to proceed through levels, whether poking my head around corners, or going in guns blazing.
Not to worry about the game feeling *too* intense for some people in VR though, as you can customise basically everything. If you want full manual reloads, where you eject the magazine, pop in another, and pull back the slide, then you can! If you want to just hit a button and have it reload for you, then you can also do that!
VR accessibility is also a concern for many, but Resident Evil 4 has many accessibility options to keep the game immersive, while making motion sickness a thing of the past. I often suffer from motion sickness myself, but combining snap turning with the vignette, I could remain immersed without ever feeling nauseous during my play session.
Overall, Resident Evil 4 Remake is *best* played in VR! The sheer immersion is just too good to pass up, and I cannot see myself playing and enjoying a Resident Evil game on the flatscreen as much as I did playing this in VR.
