A medieval sandbox

If I had reviewed this game 5 hours in I would probably have given it a much lower score. However, I stuck with it and what slowly revealed itself was one of the most thrilling, challenging, beautiful and ultimately rewarding games I have played in a long time. The journey from blacksmiths son who can barely swing a sword or draw a bow to a battle hardened warrior is a long and challenging one. I cannot count how many times I nearly put the game down out of sheer frustration but each time I returned I learned something new, improved my skills, sharpened my blades and took on the world of KCD. And I grew to love the experience. I have rarely felt so connected to a character as I do with Henry of Skalitz. I felt a rush of excitement when plunging into the fray, a pang of fear when riding alone along a forest path in the night, not knowing what awaited me around the next corner. The world itself is beautifully rendered down to the minutest detail. NPCs go about their lives and most have their own opinion of you based on past actions or your own appearance. I level of realism I have rarely experienced before. Nor done so well. The world feels authentic. A true medieval sandbox for you to play in.

• Kingdom Come: Deliverance
You're Henry, the son of a blacksmith. Thrust into a raging civil war, you watch helplessly as invaders storm your village and slaughter your friends and family. Narrowly escaping the brutal attack, you grab your sword to fight back. Avenge the death of your parents and help repel the invading forces!

• Treasures of the Past
Treasure maps of the lords banished by King Sigismund of Hungary, leading to the hidden treasures of those patriots, bandits and schemers.

• From the Ashes
As a newly appointed bailiff, you must decide what buildings to erect and what people to bring in, and you must also settle disputes between the villagers. Each building is unique and comes with its own upgrades, material and labour requirements, so you will face some difficult decisions.

• The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon
Kingdom Come: Deliverance's second DLC ""The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon"" revolves around the popular character's attempts to woo the fairest maid he has ever set eyes upon, and his success will not only depend on his own mastery of the art of love – it’s also up to you, Henry, his trusty wingman, to ensure that The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon come to a happy end!

• Band of Bastards
Kingdom Come: Deliverance's third DLC focuses on combat and minor skirmishes. Sir Radzig's old enemies are pillaging his estates, so he enlists the help of an old acquaintance, Kuno of Rychwald, the leader of an infamous mercenary band. Naturally, they need a guide, and who better for the job than Henry?

• A Woman's Lot
Armed with fortitude and dignity, she faces the coming days with a smile on her lips. And since God moves in mysterious ways, none of us can know the lot we shall have to bear. But it is often those of whom we least expect it who encounter an extraordinary destiny...
