Standard Edition

Great adventure and story game.

Pros: • Cities feel alive, NPCs walk around and have other animations like sitting. • Architecture is beautiful. It reminds me of Dishonored. I didn't want to leave the starting area (Sérène) • Interesting to see the different cultures/factions portrayed in the game; takes inspiration from reality e.g. people of Hikmet based on Arab and Turkish peoples. • Natives of Tír Fradí have their own language, very cool to hear and their language is well-designed and intricate. Takes inspiration from the Irish. • Questlines are long and interesting; not just simple fetch or escort quests. I enjoyed uncovering plots and Doctor Asili's trial quest. • Clothing of characters are varied and very interesting. • Loading screens and concept arts are beautiful and stunning. Environments too. • Voice acting is great. • Companions are varied and able to be romanced. Romanced companions come with a buff. • I enjoyed the crafting system. Different objects can be added to outfits and shoes which increase stats. • Multiple endings. Cons: • NPCs in buildings don't have a routine. They just stand in place and stare at walls; makes them feel awkward and unrealistic. • Subtitle mistakes; my female character is referred to as "he" in dialogue and female and male characters have their pronouns swapped in in-game dialogue boxes. • I would have liked the cities (Hikmet, San Matheus, Sérène and New Sérène) to be more explorable. Some areas are gated or barred, and you can't enter many buildings. • Merchant and companion dialogue is repetitive. Battle cries get tiring and need to have more variety. Merchants repeat the same line every time you interact with them or walk past. • Different interiors for De Sardet's residences would have been nice. All use the same model. • Palaces have so much empty space. The rooms are massive, but are not decorated with enough items and furniture. • Not much choice for facial character customisation and De Sardet's (main character) appearance cannot be changed later on. • I wish there was an option to turn off the 'camp in the woods' section between fast travel, the longer loading times would've been fine and you have to constantly fast travel to get to different areas. • Combat and running around feels janky. • Lots of collision in bushes and small areas.
