I've played every Civ created. Civ 7 map and city graphics are the only improvement. I HATE the age concept and transitions, the civ /leader mixing, lack of unit promotions and age-resetting commander promotions, city buildings, wonder benefits and absence of these in the wonder videos, limits on city count, horrible/clunky wheel menu, and probably more but I havent played it in a month now.

Good graphics, clunky mechanics

I've been a fan of the Civ series from the start, but after Civ V broke on my PC after one of their updates, decided to get it on console this time. The graphics are great, but there are a million different things and different buttons to access, and so the mechanics feel clunky and complex. I found myself losing actions/turns due to wrong button presses or not doing things in the right way. Things are rarely explained well (even with tutorial mode on) such as how the new commanders work, making me again waste turns or units doing bad things trying to figure them out. Also didn't like the total randomness (which others may like tbf) that you have to pick a leader independent of the Civilization... meaning I can't use e.g. the British "leader" with England/UK but would have to go for Greece or something. Honestly, if I could get my money back and delete it from my purchases I would. I have little desire to go back to it.
