I want to start by saying this game isn't for everyone. There's definitely a learning curve to the combat and some life sim systems. But if you want to dive in, really lose yourself in a game for 100 hours, this is the game for you. If you want to develop a character, make difficult choices, and experience life in medieval Bohemia, this is the game for you. The game gives as much back to you as you're willing to give it. If you're patient while learning the combat, it'll feel like second nature by the end of your playthrough. Your sword becomes an extension of your arm (or rather your controller), your bow will serve you well if you put in the practice to master it. I fell in love with the characters, the environment, the story more and more with every step. I can't recommend this enough to the right kind of player. I look forward to seeing what Warhorse does next. I'm sure it will be treated with the same care and attention to detail that is thoroughly infused into every second of KCD.

Great Game

Great game and a lot of fun. It has plenty to do and a lot of replay value, so it’s definitely worth coming back to even after you beat it. My biggest issue is the fighting mechanics. The combat can feel really clunky, especially when you’re fighting multiple people at once. The camera makes it even worse because it can be terrible trying to keep track of everyone around you. Other than that, I had a great time with the game. If they cleaned up the combat and fixed the camera during group fights, it would easily be a 5-star game for me.

Royal Edition

Sadistic game

Could have been one of the greatest games of all time if warhorse wasn’t obsessed with punishing you for playing the game. Seemingly innocuous choices make the game impossibly difficult and you can be locked out of major buffs and equipment simply by playing a mini game early forcing you to replay 10 hours of gameplay or lose it all forever. The story is incredibly static and doesn’t change at all no matter what choices you make. The only thing you can do in this game is lose and Henry is an absolute non factor no matter how smart or dangerous he becomes. The romance options also don’t matter unless you fall in love with Hans. All you can do is lose and be humiliated for 40 hours of gameplay. (Spoiler) Also you lose in the end no matter what you do the game doesn’t have a “good” ending or even a semi complete resolution

Saga Bundle

Don't give up! I almost gave up multiple times

The first 18 hours will be absolutely brutal! Watch guides on YouTube on how to get money, food, weapons and armor. Once you get past the first 18 hours this game is a blast! Always use save and quit before a battle, so if you lose you can retry it asap.

Royal Edition

A game like no other

This game is not a typical game. It is an acquired taste. Not everyone is going to like it. But if you want a whole new gaming experience with grounded mechanics and a grounded storyline, give this game a chance. This is not a run-and-gun game where you go around completing quests. It is a simulation of sorts, built upon the choices you make and the things you do. This is an RPG unlike any I have experienced before, and I am so glad I dove into it. After hours of playing I have still yet to really dive in. Tons of content.

Addicting once over the learning cliff

This game has a steep learning cliff at the start, but taking it step by step and watching some good advice videos, I absolutely love this game now. At about 100 hours in, and I still have so many quests and just random points of interest to go to, and they all feel lived in and fleshed out. Even the simplest fetch quests have some kind of twist, keeping things fresh. I love it.

TERRIBLE

This does not feel like a game. It plays more like a long-winded exercise in "do what I want, feel what I want you to feel and think what I want you to think" from the game designers. DO NOT BUY because you will not get a refund. It's not woke, it's frustrating and offensive.

The medieval sim I didn't know I needed

This is probably one of the best, most immersive games I have ever played. Combat is a little janky until you get used to it, but every single other aspect of the game is incredible.

Combat system/mid game

My review may change. First the combat system was just really making me angry however I held strong and got better. Got my character leveled and found some really great armor I think this is when is started to get enjoyable for me however I am now currently stuck on what I feel is a endless horrible cycle of constant story mode were I am forced to fight battle after battle after battle with no end in site and finally am at a point were I feel like the story is gonna finally let me go however now im stuck shooting this ......pistol with 6 guys all attacking me. After all that I just went through to be stuck here doing this just really make me dislike this game. We will see once I finish the game that is if it doesn't make me delete it first.
