So much potential wasted

Huge world is awesome but after over 100 hours into this game, the annoyances are just too much to continue on. The controls are the worst in this game. The environment gets in the way of the camera more often then not and you just can't see anything. Are you in a dense forest? Too bad the camera is stuck in the trees and you can see yourself. Are you crouching in a small passage and you're wearing a hug shield? Sorry, can't see anything here either. Oh it's night time and I cant see anything, better go to sleep. Oh you cant sleep right now, wtf. Ok boss fight time. Can't lock on and need to keep chasing these teleporty dudes everywhere with my camera. OH cool I got a dragon! Oh I cant fly this now, not even at an enemy encampment. What's the point? And the quests are so tiring. Especially all the stupid horse missions where you follow someone. And you cant run the whole way because the lead just slows down randomly and you can move passed them. And when you get to where you need to be the lead just leaves you. Like what's the point of that? Just tell me where to go! And the dialog, omg it's so bad and just chatty for no reason. I fast forward everything because there is no point. And the npc that sell things, why do they have to say the same stuff all the time? I dont need the same commentary over and over again. And the puzzles. Some stuff was ok other stuff just no visual queues or anything. This game honestly just feels unfinished and rushed. It has so much potential. It has a lot of what I loved in Breath of the Wild (true open world, paraglider, climbing) but just ruined it annoying stuff from red dead (like the constant chatty npcs, for real just shut up you dont need to talk all the time). Also, what is the point of the other characters? I barely get to play as them and I can never summon them. I'm in chapter 12 and only played as oonka and damiane once. Maybe I missed it but when I want to switch out I can't because "they're on a special mission". That mission? Just sitting around at camp. This whole entire game design feels vibe coded: "make me a massive open world game in the style of red dead and breath of the wild and witcher. make it medieval and sci elements with flying and dragons ands stuff. oh and have horse riding". Maybe it's just unfinished and will be good eventually. I wouldn't know because I'm done with it. Not worth the $70 at all.

Underserving of the hype.

The UI on this game is terrible and the controls are just a mess. Unfortunately, PlayStation's terrible refund policy won't let me get my money back. What a waste....

No support

The game has been bugged for two weeks. I can only rotate the camera when in game, main menu works fine. I sent an error report to the developer with no reply.

Buggy mess after patch 1.04.02

As of Patch 1.04.02, the studio said they had fixed legendary mounts. This is NOT true. The mounts die once, and then can never be summoned again. Permanently locking you out of content. This has still not been added to the known issues list, and I am now PERMANETLY LOCKED out of content. I absolutely cannot recommend this game to anyone with this game breaking bug being present. I will be demanding a refund.

Wonderful, unapologetic, sincere, full of content and exploration

A massive shift in the right direction and away from the nonsensical pr0n0un-obsessed AAA titles from the last few years. This is real video game adventure

Extremely frustrating and not rewarding at all

Crimson Desert currently suffers from a disconnect between its ambitious scale and its execution. The exponential upgrade costs (requiring 1,000+ items for a single level 10 item) and unrewarding boss loot make the grind feel pointless. This is compounded by inconsistent combat inputs, a lack of defensive feedback, and boss encounters that prioritize frustration over interactivity. Finally, the technical state of the game—manifesting in extreme load times and game-breaking crashes—prevents the player from even attempting to overcome these hurdles.

Huge World!

So many things to do, no time restraints…I love this game. They are constantly updating things for the better. This the game to play right now!

Expansive but shallow

There is lots to do and explore, but the bland story and characters, along with some frustrating gameplay, detract from the overall experience.
