Improvement every where but combat.

While I like personally liked the story of Jin more then story was still really well written. Visually the game is outstanding, exploration is fun, even the music is awesome. The problems the game has is mainly is the combat. The camera is a problem 50% of the time. It'll be so close or sometimes you completely lose track of where enemies are. Companions don't do anything and enemies ignore them to gang up on you anyway. It's cool that weapons have advantages and disadvantages but fighting multiple enemies with different weapons really makes it a problem. I played GoT on pc so I don't know if there was a difference but parrying and dodging felt really bad in this game. Especially in the late second chapter and third. It's a real shame because otherwise the game is awesome. It got to a point I couldn't wait for it to be over.

Good Game

The camera is by far the worst aspect of this game. I couldn’t even enjoy the game on a harder difficulty as the camera was constantly working against me in combat. The story is predictable and does nothing to break away from the usual “vengeance” trope. The game looks gorgeous and the gameplay mechanics with weapon alignment was a major improvement on the last games stance mechanic. I do wish there was more an emphasis on honor like the first game had as to make the games more parallel. The way it’s integrated in this showing is almost as if it was an after thought and realistically they could’ve just made an entirely new IP. All in all there weren’t many bugs I came across and I did enjoy the story more than the multiplayer. In the future just leave the multiplayer off its apparent that it was only added because fans not because there were Great ideas implemented and/or coming.

Good, but could have been better.

I enjoyed about 90% of this game. The game play and mechanics were good, the duels felt satisfying and the graphics (especially the landscape) was amazing. I played all the content. I completed every side quest and collected every vanity item. I thoroughly enjoyed the game up until Act 3. There's a point where SP games makes a narrative choice that disregards player agency during combat that I did not agree with. You'll see what I mean if/when you get there. Without that I'd have given this game 5 stars but this fun new direction makes it a 4 star game. The 3 star rating is for the bait and switch on skill and agency being superseded by narrative in the 11th hour. Next time make it a cut scene.

Become the Onryō

A classic revenge stories that sees you visiting some incredible locations and a pretty engaging combat system. Visually the game is stunning, performance is smooth and the music will stick with you for a while. The characters are pretty memorable but the story and game never reach the next level. Still a great game overall you won't regret getting lost in the world of Yōtei.
