This is, without a doubt, the most predatory video game I have ever played when it comes to microtransactions. You ordered the $150 version? Cool—here's a battle pass for you to grind through just to unlock those superstars that you paid to play with. But no worries, you can always give us another $70 to bypass all of the levels and unlock everything! I mean, seriously, what kind of scummy human being sits in a development meeting and comes up with things like this?? But hey, they give you some VC throughout the battle pass. But what's that? You can only use it inside of the terrible Island mode...which I REFUSE to touch. MyFaction is also the worst it has ever been. Of course you can expect to be forced to buy cards just to unlock the Live Events matches (which usually give you the best cards in the mode). If it was even a reasonable amount of sweatiness and greed I could look over that, but it isn't. You usually need a card that is rewarded for completing a full collection, which you guessed it, can only be done by buying packs with real money. And the odds are so awful that you would have to spend hundreds of dollars buying packs just to complete a collection and get that ONE CARD that you need to do the Live Event match. And as if that isn't bad enough, they also make the matches unreasonably difficult and then still add stipulations and debuffs to your already weak card to put you at the biggest disadvantage possible. Now why would they do this? Just to be a-holes?? Not really. They mainly do it to slow your progress down to a snail's pace so that you will eventually get to the point where you are frustrated and just buy packs with real money to bypass the grind. I tried playing World Tour and one of the first matches is a submission match against a pretty highly rated card (and of course you are restricted from using anything close to as powerful). I landed seven signature moves, seven finisher moves, and beat him with weapons for ten minutes and could not get anywhere close to submitting him; yet he hits one finisher and can submit you almost immediately. And you can't even swap over from the button-mashing mini-game to the one that gives you more control in MyFaction because God forbid they made anything actually doable. Are you seeing the pattern yet?

BUSINESS as usual

This would have and should have been their moment in the sun. Instead, it is the close successor to WWE2K20. The graphics are solid. The gameplay is on point. There have been decent improvements in things here and there. THE GREED HAS RUINED THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE. The Battle Pass is a cash grab joke! They expect players to grind hours to unlock, not just the bonus content that many of us paid extra for, but many of the simple things that have ALWAYS been included with the base game. Of course they have an option for you, If you prefer you can shell out $2.00 per tier that you want to skip and there are 40 tiers in each season, and there will be 6 season. Do the math. All for content you already paid for. Online play is impossible. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOSER.

Do not buy!!!! The devs of this game would rather patch out convenient harmless grind tactics than fix their game. 2k is money hungry and simply doesn’t care about player experience!!!

This Game Is Amazing

This is the best wrestling game I’ve ever got my hands on. The new matches are just amazing! The my raise is an absolute classic. You can tell these game artists put a lot of time into this. I LOVE LOVE! The new winded system after your stamina runs out. To me that’s what made me get the game. A more realistic feel! Takes skill and strategy. The battle pass is great in my opinion. I’m on tier 22 and I’m enjoying going through different modes of the game to unlock rewards. The “grind” isn’t bad at all in fact it’s relaxing. I love the island! I came into 2k25 towards the end of the year so I didn’t get to experience the thrill. Custom characters, over 400 wrestlers! New moves! The only thing I wish they would add back is the wrestler manifestation lol that was a cool character. Anyways, lol pick up the game WHERE THE SHOW NEVER STOPS!!!

Cash Grab harms Experience

The Ringside pass is a massive downside to an otherwise decent game. In the past you paid for the highest tier product for a premium experience. Now you pay the same amount and are forced to play the game in ways that might not be what you're looking for.
