False Advertising Don't Buy This

To start they put 3 superstars Booker T 01, Kurt Angle 00 and Triple H 99 on the cover of this game and changed people 150 dollars. They then put those 3 superstars behind a in game paywall where you have to either spend money to hopefully get a lucky draw and pull them as a card in the store. Or you have to in Triple H '99 obtain 6 different cards, which takes hours of playing MY Faction to hopefully get the 6 card. Then there's still more work to do as you have to use the card you've unlocked to now Triple H '99. On top of that you must earn a certain amount of stars to unlock him in the match since just winning isn't enough. They have been locked behind a MY Faction paywall for the past 3 years in a row. Then the so called Ring Pass is nothing but more hustling of fans. They are putting hair styles, taunts, and cheap looking cosmetic banners as rewards and not the WWE superstar that are actually on the games cover. No they filled more than 30 of the 40 slots with nothing but low VC and MY Faction points to force you to play those terrible built game modes. Then they have the nerve to not put the personas in that fans want, they added this trash BORDERLANDS superstars that no one asked for in the Ring Pass for free. So the superstars fans want (THAT ARE ON THE GAMES COVER) you have to spend hours or money to unlock. If things weren't bad enough a high rate of users including me are not able to access the Content Manger without it crashing. So the game is telling me I can not download photos as my space is full, but I'm unable to delete anything since they decided to release a broken game that force closes. The only response from 2K regarding this is to delete everything and start over from the beginning which is RIDICULOUS, and terrible customer service. This is one of the worst money grabbing, and glichting games I have ever purchased in my life. They have completely turned me off as a fan from the No Mercy N64 days. I will never purchase another 2K WWE game as they are literally and figuratively robbing fans. I encourage anyone has not don't purchase this game.

Some good advancements but microtransactions, glitches and sameness hold it back

WWE 2K26 made a lot of great strides forward. 200 created superstar slots, double the images for creations, tons of gameplay improvements, some cool new match types (inferno, dumpster, etc.) and awesome new weapons (thumbtacks!). However, the game still feels largely the same as 2K25. This year's MyRise is the laziest, most boring MyRise yet. It just feels very uninspired and unlike past years, the male and female MyRise paths are exactly the same. Showcase was actually good this year, but common problems are still frustrating. The game still has no idea you're in a different mode and just plays like it does elsewhere, making completing objectives too challenging and annoying at times rather than supporting you in creating awesome moments and reliving these matches. The Ringside Pass DLC was originally awful but they've since fixed some of the issues, such as giving you the paid DLC characters up front and making it easier to level up to the next tier. I am still not a fan of this over the season pass, but we're early on so I may come around to it. And I will say it's nice getting cool bonuses like new moves, creation parts, MyFaction packs, etc. MyGM is largely the same with some nice improvements, though I don't play that mode much so my thoughts on it are limited. Same thing for Universe. Community Creations is frustrating this year. Still no Most Recent tab and not being able to swap pages while it's loading is really annoying. It still hangs up all the time, crashes the game and just has tons of issues it's had forever. I don't play online so I won't comment on that. The Island and MyFaction are HORRIBLE this year (and I'm so sick of all the 2K20 fantasy junk. I buy a WWE game to play as WWE wrestlers, not generics like Slacks McStacks). They really had the gall to advertise more than 400 wrestlers on the roster while more than 50 of them are fake wrestlers and lots of current stars are missing from the game. For MyFaction and The Island, the forced camera angle, even more limitations, high priced microtransactions (and more than ever), pay to win leveling system, confusing powerup/leveling systems, and horribly unfair, unbalanced difficulty settings that are designed to frustrate you so you'll pay for microtransactions all make for a horrible experience. This makes unlocking really cool extra content like personas (some of which should be free updates because they're updates to outdated in-game superstars) and other items nearly impossible to unlock. It all makes for a frustrating, anti-consumer experience. I realize this is how the industry is now, but it doesn't excuse it. 2K has killed most of my fun for these games and I've played since the original Smackdown on PS1. Even before that, I was a wrestling game fan since the NES days. With the massive amount of glitches, constant crashing and just overall overly difficult, heavily monetized nature of the games now, my joy for this series is all but dead. It's really a shame because the presentation and gameplay is top notch now and it's so great to get new match types and weapons every year now. Other small changes like real life referees, more commentators, better graphics with more emphasis on blood and sweat and a lot of signs that they do listen to the fans in many ways makes it all a bittersweet experience. 2K25 was heading in the right direction in terms of microtransactions, at least in MyFaction, but this year took 10 steps back in that regard. The game just comes across as scummy and it's clear that all 2K cares about is milking this license for as much as they can. We as players need to send a clear message and refuse to spend money on VC (like I do) so they will see we don't want this crap in our wrestling games.

Not fun anymore

I was a big fan of myfaction, and I played it daily. However, they lowered the odds of getting decent cards out of the pack, and I refuse to spend more money to buy packs on a game I spent so much on. I am done with the WWE 2k games. I bought 15 packs with my MFP and only received 1 card in the collection. Yes, 1 out of 75 cards. I don't expect one in every pack, but one out of 15 isn't right.

Greedy & Lazy.

This review is compromised of my personal opinions having gotten every WWE title on PlayStation since WWF Attitude. The game is fun, for a product that should have been where it's at, from a gameplay aspect, years ago. This franchise since 2K took over has been let down after let down. There's no excuse to charge this much for such a subpar product. The gameplay is fun, when it's not broken, but its few positives are overshadowed by a cancerous money grab via this Ringside Pass. They took a simple and straight forward system of pay more to unlock early and decided to keep letting you pay more while grossly locking away what you paid extra for in order to keep their statics up and make people play game modes they have no interest in. They sacrifice player freedom for their own micromanagement of how they would like their game played, even after it's been purchased. Graphic's have not made a true leap since 2K15, which was 11 years ago if you do that math. Which was also the same year they gutted the match types and features to where they're still "Trying" to get the games to where they already were and have failed. They've fail, due in large part I believe, in wasting resources in financially predatory modes like MyFaction and the now Ringside Pass where they rather incentivize players to pay more money than to dedicate time to making a title wrestling fans can simply just enjoy THE WAY THEY WANT TO. They only update the entrances and models of I would say about 25% of the roster, where even some current champions over the scope of the previous year weren't updated beyond a new attire. Attires and Ratings are the main things that get updated, and both of these things can be done and are done by the players themselves, which fits their desires perfectly.

Can’t recommend!

Overall this game falls flat. The good is cancelled out overwhelmingly by the bad. In terms of gameplay and base roster, there are mostly positives. The ragdoll physics make weapon matches more fun. The edition of thumbtacks is welcomed. Myfaction, Myrise, and The Island are still corny, unrealistic, qnd not fun. The DLC was replaced with a ringside pass/battlepass which should never be present on a paid title, especially one that cost $150 plus tax. They force you to grind to unlock legends qbe DLC that would have previosly been included in deluxe editions. The minimum amount of currency they provide makes it boring and repetitive to unlock 40 level eqch over 6 seasons. There is a monetary and time investment required to earn DLC that you pay for. They continuue to lock most personas behind paywalls and the devs are clueless as to what fans actually want in a pro wrestling video game. They prioritize playtime and monetization over fun and try to control how you play the game that you purchase. Despite the potential to get better, they continue to take 5 steps back for each step forward.

Unethical Game

WWE 2K for another year releases a game full of bugs and disappointments. The same bugs that they take forever to fix every year always show up again. The online servers are trash, nothing but error messages and crashes. The creation suite is neglected once again with majority of the same stale items or things being locked. My faction and the island should not be prioritized in this game as majority of players don’t care about these modes. The ringside battle pass is an absolute joke and money grab. After spending over $150 why would the dlc be locked behind a battle pass along with things that we’ve already had access to from the jump in previous games. The battle pass is time consuming also, casual players will not be able to unlock everything. 2K needs to listen to its fanbase, this game shouldn’t be like this. It’s clear that 2k is only interested in scamming consumers by making the most money possible while doing the least amount of work possible. They’re banking on customers spending even more money on micro transactions and it’s NOT RIGHT! We deserve better and I suggest people save their money and not by this predatory game. Major changes need to be made with business practices and the development team over at WWE 2K!!

Dont Buy

$150 to unlock and then still have to "grind" over the next 10 months to still have to unlock everything? I wont even be playing this game in 3 months, let alone 10. It’s like ordering food from a restaurant on Grub Hub and having it delivered, To then find out you gotta cook everything yourself.

Worst Entry yet.

While core gameplay improvements are welcome. They are overshadowed by the predatory monetization and game breaking crashes and bugs. WWE deserves better than this and your money can be better spent elsewhere. Enjoy playing your games, not being frustrated and robbed by them like this game does.

Horrible.

$150 for a broken, money grabbing game. This company should be ashamed of themselves
