Beautiful but Bloated

FF7 Remake looks great and the combat is different but decent. That's the best I can say about it. The game vaguely follows the idea of the concept of the original game. The character names are certainly there. The locations from the original are certainly there. The addition of the "whispers" and the over-representation of the primary antagonist do not help this game in the slightest. They turned everything into a pointless mini-game that adds nothing to the story. They took the drama out of the game completely. The original "twist" instances from the original have been neutered.

Love it!

I never played the original, but I am loving this remake. The characters are over the top and goofy and the combat system is easy to understand with some decent depth. I'm having a great time playing through this!

Final fantasy 7 remake sucks

The game is a mini games simulator and forces you just to walk slowly everywhere for no reason

Disappointing slop

This is a bad game. There was so little love poured into it beyond the surface looks; and I don’t understand why. So many people were waiting for this release! The combat system is messy, the dialogue cringe worthy, the story lost its charm by being padded with so much filler and poor artistic direction, Sephiroth lost the mystery factor, the side quest are a borefest, I mean… a complete disappointment. Ugh. They didn’t stick to what worked but also didn’t make it better. Complete flop. The game Expedition 33 from Sandfall is what you should purchase instead to get some of what, if you are like me, were looking for here. Way superior game. Very sad what has happened to the FF franchise.

Disrespectful Desecration

This is a Fanfic Disney/Marvel-ified version of FF7. Horrid writing and disrespectul to the original game and fans. I am far from an OG purist and regret playing this game for more reasons than I can fit here. Go play the original or any other mainline FF over this.

Aerith is Obnoxious

This game is incredible other than Aerith. Her character is extremely pushy and obnoxious with a shrill voice actor. She becomes an integral part of the story midway through the game. Honestly, if she was there from the beginning I would have probably ditched the game, but they wait until you are already invested to slide her in. She joins your party (over which you have no choice) and you will be stuck listening to her from then on. It really turned this from a 5/5 great game to a 3/5 at best for me because of how obnoxious she is and how omnipresent she is. What were they thinking? The game was perfect until they slid her in. This is enough to make me not buy the next game.
