Twin Pack
Best game on Playstation

This game was a treat in all senses of the word. What made me fall in love with the original final fantasy 7 was the story and, most of all, the characters, and this game overdelivered in those aspects. I can’t wait for the third installment.

Don't like mini-games in story missions

This is good game but i don't like the mini-games in it. Hope the dev will make the function that allow the player can skip the mini-game at least in main story missions.

This is one of the best games I have ever played in my life. People who don't like this game are idiots.

Don't like it.

Where to begin? There's no continuance of levels between the two. The team AI is the same as it is in Kingdom Hearts. (Your teammates are useless damage sponges) The gameplay is twitchy, stats/levels/materia strategy does not matter; using counterfire and perfect blocks will always work best. The materia system is very restricted compared to the original. There's not much individuality to be had with setting up materia in the remake. I didn't mind the side quests, but let ppl track what they've unlocked for Cloud's outfits in Remake. I prefer the original Final Fantasy 7 because the combat system was more unlimited. You could spend as many hours you wanted maxing and forking command materia. Once you max the limited set you get in the remake, there's no satisfying loop... its just maxed.

The story is okay. combat was better in remake. Mini games are all awful. The flying chocobo is the absolute worst thing I have ever encountered in gaming.

I feel like this could have been a better game.

I enjoyed remake and I feel like there was changes made just for the sake of change. Not to the story the story is good. Some changes feel unoriginal feeling stolen from other open world games instead of natural. I feel like there is a disconnect between this and remake mechanical. Side quest feels forced and draw away from the story. Main NPCs seem hollow due to the mass of them, they are meant to add to the game, but they just take away. I feel like this could have been a better game. That is just me and take this review as just that a personal review.

alot of people complaining about bloat are the same people who want to speed through games. i find the extra stuff great no sense in buying a game that has no gametime involved with it. PS5 Pro vers mode looks amazing really enjoying the game. don't pay attention to the h8ers if you liked the first one you'll enjoy this one, more to do and not as linear.

so much bloat. the mini games were mostly just not fun. kinda regret playing this. i genuinely do not understand how any one can play this and think it was amazing.

Bloated

There's hypothetically a good game under there somewhere, if you scrape off a whole lot of obnoxious new side characters, tedious minigames that rely on bad controls for their challenge, and sections of the original game that were concise and effective but have now been inflated like a racoon carcass clogged in a septic line. Every time I started to find a groove and enjoy myself, the game interrupted me with some unwelcome new nonsense. It desperately needed an editor, and the first thing that editor should have done is push Chadley the Unskippable Dialogue Robot into a trash compactor. By the time I set this game aside it had worn out its welcome so thoroughly that I was only enduring it out of a sense of obligation born from how expensive it was. I should have trusted my instincts after the first game fell so far short of what I wanted, and I will not be returning for the third installment. The best thing I can say about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is that it kept Tetsuya Nomura's "creative vision" quarantined from the rest of the Final Fantasy line for a while.

Best Game of 2024

This game was my favorite game of 2024, I just couldn’t get enough of the combat/story/characters. There’s a lot of optional content available, some may see it as bloat, I didn’t. There’s beauty of the side stuff is that you don’t HAVE to do any of it and you still have a pretty meaty main story line. This game does have some lows in it I’m not going to lie, but it’s high points outweigh them.
