1949年から1953年にかけて、F7Aが2300台以上、キャブレスのF7Bが1400台以上製造されました。数あるオリジナルバイヤーの中でも、Santa Fe（サンタフェ）鉄道ほど象徴的な存在もないでしょう。赤、黄、銀を基調とした大胆なWarbonnet（ウォーボネット）のカラーリングで、旅客・貨物の両分野で有名になりました。

近代的な動力に取って代わられたF7は、現在でも最新鋭の姿を見せており、鉄道ファンにとっては懐かしい光景です。

「Train Sim World 3」では、Santa Fe F7がCajon Passに登場！スイッチングから山頂制覇まで、ウォーボネット塗装で貨物を運び、カリフォルニアの鉄道ファンに往時の味をお届けします。
