One of the best Action RPGs I have ever played

I have absolutely loved my time with Blood of the Dawnwalker. Coen as a protagonist is amazing and is up there with Geralt and Author Morgan. The story is fantastic as well as the combat. DO NOT be afraid of the time mechanic I have done every side quest this game has to offer and I still have 2 days left. The time mechanic forces you to do what you think is needed and important while giving you plenty of wiggle room which I think is super cool. Bottom line if you like the Witcher you will love this game.

Be Aware- Waste of Money & Time

Please Be Aware: 68 yr old Gamer been playing for 40+ years. First time leaving a review on PS Store! Play on Easy or Story levels at my age now. At that level I am constantly being one shotted, Including animals! extremely Frustrating! Very complicated fighting system which say you can counteract with a skill called Omniblock. I have Omniblock upgraded 3 or 4 total and literally get killed all the time. Has an Auto Block does not work. Glitches and Bugs all over the game including one glitch that does not allow you to draw your sword in fight. Who creates a game with a glitch that leaves your to fight with fists while enemy is 1 shotting you with sword? Cannot play it anymore the Story/Easy level is a sham and the game is highly frustrating! Waste of Money and Time- Heavily Glitch ridden....Easy/Story level a Joke!

Fresh.But Unexpected

I am really enjoying the game this only makes me excited to see what’s next…I am so invested in the each character. I’ve been wanting a vampire game and Conen is a great dawnwalker. I honestly want to say more but enjoy the game. Rebel keep up the great work I can’t wait to see what’s next.

Game could be way better

It’s a very cool game but I feel like it’s lacking. Game play gets boring and repetitive too fast. Especially enemies and just wildlife. Everything really. For the price it’s not worth it

Great Gane

The side missons alone are simply amazing and deep with rewarding loot.

GOTY!!

I absolutely loved this game! The combat was tricky at first but once you get the hang of it, it is so much fun! The story is amazing! Characters are awesome. I couldn’t put it down until I finished it! Remember there are 7 different endings so depending on your choices and if you are playing during the night or day things change! You guys rocked with this one!! Cheers and can’t wait for the second one!

Exceptional story, incredible combat, lots of fun!

I started a play through about 3 days ago and immediately fell into a problematic development choice/loop and quit the game, and made a knee-jerk negative review. Boy, was I wrong. After some reading online I gave the game another try and was blown away. The combat is so rewarding and fun, the story is incredible, and the time constraints folks talked about in the lead up to launch are not an issue. The game is masterfully crafted and I can't wait to see a sequel.

Great Game

I had a great time with this game. It has an interesting story with a number of interesting characters and the dialogue is well written and it has multiple endings for you to discover. The game looks like and carries the essence of the Witcher 3 but is still very much its own thing. I believe if you like the vibe of the witcher you will definitely like this game. The combat at the beginning was a little annoying but that was only because I wasn't used to inputting directions for sword swings and blocks but as soon as I developed muscles memory and didn't have to think, I found it to be very fun and engaging. I chuckled when I went to play ghost of yotei and accidentally started inputting directions for the sword swings and honestly I missed it. Don't be afraid of the time system like I was because it's actually very forgiving maybe because people complained a lot before the game released. I was able to get every skill I wanted and do every quest and side stuff I wanted to and completed the game after 40 hours with 8 days left so I could still do a lot more so I wish I wasn't as stressed about the time in the beginning and you don't have to be. This game does what it does quite well so if you are into open world narrative driven games with some sword fighting and monsters and choices mixed in then this is the game for you.

Time System Ruins the Game

This was easily a 4 star game. Maybe 5. But why it chose to limit itself to this ridiculous time economy, locking out the full scope of the game is beyond me. I'm completely soured on the thing at this point. Wish to God I hadn't spent my money on it. Why would you take the time to make a beautiful, interesting world then only allow players to complete a few quests at a time? It's asinine.

Undeserved Hype

The premise of the game us cool; the controls are super 2010's clunky and Coen feels like he's mired in peanut butter the whole game when moving.

14th-century Europe. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. It's a moment of weakness - and that's all they needed. Vampires seize their opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they've been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it. Other creatures of the night follow their lead. Legends turn into reality, and history as we know it will never be the same.

You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker, forever treading the line between the world of day and the realm of night. Fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?

Make The Story Your Own - Experience and shape the plot the way you want. Embark on the quest to save your family, or swear revenge on your sire and destroy everyone standing in your way. Discover ancient secrets lurking in the valley. Rush in head first or risk taking time to prepare. Go alone or search for friends and forge unlikely alliances.

Day And Night - Experience two different gameplay loops, offering distinct abilities to choose from, mysteries to uncover, and varying ways to achieve your goals. Experiment with different approaches and discover how the world reacts to your actions.

Every Action Matters - Every action - and inaction - shapes the world around you. Your family’s days are numbered, and every time you take on a quest, time moves forward, compelling you closer to the end. Choose carefully whom to help and whom to leave behind. You will not have time for everyone. The world waits for no one. And neither does the villain.

Sword, Claws, And Rage - Defy gravity, become a brutal force of nature, and use your supernatural skills as a vampire. Or raise your sword, and employ powerful magic to take on opponents as a human. Experiment and adapt as your form changes during the day and night; each has its strengths and weaknesses.

Open World Brimming With Adventure - Venture through the hand-crafted open world and discover all it has to offer. Roam through the lush forests, the vast plains, the treacherous swamps, the steep mountaintops, and the medieval settlements. Explore forgotten ruins, find remnants of an ancient civilization, and uncover truths that should probably remain hidden.

Become The Dawnwalker - Experience the beginning of a brand-new saga built with love for the role-playing genre. Immerse yourself in a visually stunning world powered by the next-gen Unreal Engine 5.
