ASTRO's PLAYROOM

An endearing Nintendo-esque platformer that shows the DualSense's potential. It has great music, a fair challenge, and a lot of interesting and nostalgic unlockables. Don't be discouraged by it's briefness and label as a "tech demo". This is well worth playing.

i love this game for it's funniness, accessibility, ease on new ps5 players, and overall greatness, do recommend for anybody who just bought a ps5, whether they are young or old, beginner or professional. good job team asobi

Astro’s Playroom is absolutely amazing game. The best use of DualSense controller. The game is very enjoyable for young players, but don't let that fool you, because if you have been playing games for a long time there is definitely something there for adult gamers (might even bring some tears of joy, nostalgia and everything that make gaming a wonderful experience).

Astro’s Playroom is a fantastic tech demo game that showcases the capabilities of the DualSense controller. The haptic feedback, motion sensor, and adaptive triggers make a significant difference, and the game successfully demonstrates these features. The game itself is enjoyable, featuring four distinct levels that offer unique gameplay experiences. Players can glide into the air, transform into a cannonball and roll their way to the finish line, become a robot monkey, and do some mountain climbing. Additionally, players can transform into a robot frog, allowing them to jump into action. Astro’s Playroom also includes collectibles that represent the history of PlayStation, spanning from the PS1 era to the PS5 era. These collectibles add an extra layer of depth and nostalgia to the game. The game itself effectively utilizes the DualSense controller’s features, resulting in an engaging and innovative gaming experience. Although the game is relatively short, it packs a lot of fun and demonstrates the potential of the PS5 and DualSense in this new generation of gaming.

I went into this game expecting it to be nothing more than a quick tech demo, I was very wrong. What I was meet with was a platformer where you played as a charming little robot in a world that has a better art style then most modern games. I was further surprised to see this was a full game with different worlds to complete and collectables to collect and get this the collectables became a scavenger hunt that takes you through the history of PlayStation. Do not pass up this gem of a game.

That is basically it, a game that even small kids (6y) can play and enjoy. Looking forward to the next one. It also uses the capabilities of the controller in creative ways that hopefully all games capture in the future for a better experience.
