Hogwarts Legacy PS5 Version

I think this game gets ignored a lot because most gamers pass it off as just another mediocre game in the HP universe. But, I would argue that Hogwarts Legacy delivers in almost every possible way. The world of Hogwarts and its surrounding villages are dense and full of life, even if you don't have any background on the HP universe. The combat system is surprisingly deep for this game with a variety of "armor" types that you must swap between spells to weaken. The gameplay also has an impressive variety. Just when I thought I had seen every aspect of the game, I would unlock a whole new type of gameplay or another layer to the story. Some of the level designs in this game are so clever and creative. Every nook and cranny of this world has something fun to stumble on. Now, I will admit that some of the side quests and collectibles can get a bit tedious and repetitive, but you don't have to do those things. They are optional quests/tasks. Overall, those things didn't bother me that much. Finally, the story in this game had me hooked from start to finish. It felt like a story that belongs in the HP universe. I am very excited to see where the sequel will go. This is a fantastic start to what I hope becomes a long-lasting game franchise. The only people who might not like this game are completionists because getting a platinum in this game would be frustrating, but for a normal playthrough to the credits, it's fantastic!

Gameplay is a chore simulator. You cannot interact with the students in any meaningful way; you cannot sit at the tables, you cannot sleep in your bed, and the living world is just a series of scripted animations that reset every time you turn the camera. Inventory management is the worst.

This game has been amazing fun for my wife and I to play side by side, taking turns of course as it is a one player game. On normal, the combat is just right for a day who plays in his spare time, I have to help my wife with some combat though there is an easier mode and a story mode. Enjoy all the magic of Harry Potter in a new way that brings back all of the magic!

I have been waiting years for a good Harry Potter themed game to come out and it finally did this game has so much detailed and references to the books/movies it is just an amazing experience.

I had zero expectations going in and only bought it when it went on sale. It’s 10/10 good, my favorite video game of all time. The music alone is reason enough to buy and experience the full game.
