A complete game

I bought this game a little skeptical due to the amount of hype it was receiving, and I wanted to keep my expectations low to prevent overhyping it for myself. With that being said, this game made me feel something that I haven’t felt playing games since I was a child. The visuals were amazing. The soundtrack, phenomenal. The story, very deep and can be applied to real world. The sheer amount of content for the price, unmatched. I had a lot of fun with this game, with the only thing a little bothersome being the combat. I am used to open combat, and turn based was something I don’t prefer. Even then, it was executed very well and I had a blast. Would recommend this game to anyone.

Amazing Twist on Turn Based combat

I love the story and world of Clair Obscur but the combat is love or hate. I'm more on the love side but can't lie that the dodging and parrying play a much more massive role in dictating whether you win or lose a fight. Which isn't a bad thing whatsoever but just an extra thing to keep in mind. All of the characters are fun and equally as interesting and the game never got bland for me! Definetely give it a go if you love great story telling with an extra layer of challenge.

It's a Vibe

This game is a blast to play. Understanding this world and exploring it through some fun twists and wrinkles is so much fun. I did end up turning the difficulty down when I was about halfway because I got tired of a few of the parry timings, but the journey is so much fun, and I love the soundtrack so much.

Boring

Over hyped nothing is really explained in the first act. And by the time things start happening you really don't care about it anymore. Looks cool the story and level design needs allot of work

Wasn't really what I expecred...Overhyped?

Bought the game because all the hype around it and I'm talking serious hype, everyone kept talking about it and praising it. So I figured I'd like it too just like everyone else. The game is pretty bare bones mechanic wise. I mean it really is all Turn-based then running to the next spot. Dialogue. WHOLE lotta dialogue and I get it, it's okay for a game to have a decent story, but I don't really buy games for their story, that's what books are for. Back to the gameplay though. I seen people saying things like, "Turn based that's actually engaging, you have to actually press something to defend yourself" but we've had this in turn-based games before. Like a Dragon specifically did this and those games are not exactly known as "Turn-based". Maybe I'm missing something, but right now it just feels as if I need to play it to get my money's worth. Wish I would've just got the game from Gamestop or something. Glad this game is for someone though, it just ain't me and that's okay!

Amazing

If you enjoyed the SNES/PSX Final Fantasies, this is a modern adaptation of that formula, perfectly executed.

Truly remarkable

It's hard to overstate how impressive, entertaining, and exhilarating this game is from start to finish. The visuals and music alone are the best I've ever experienced in a video game. The story, voice acting, and direction are second to none. And the gameplay itself is unique, engaging, fun yet difficult to master. I'd just be careful of going online to look up gameplay tips early on because it's easy to stumble upon spoilers, and trust me this is one that you don't want spoiled.
