A rebirth in many senses

Final Fantasy 7 Remake revolutionised the story and gameplay for the much-loved and critically acclaimed Final Fantasy 7 which launched on the PS1. Rebirth takes what was great about Remake and builds upon it, through the introduction of open world zones, much more character development and new twists and takes on the classic story. The story follows Cloud and his companions as they venture out of Midgar following the events of Remake and into the vast open world, where they chase the elusive Sephiroth as he seeks his mysterious goal. The game looks glorious, with detailed graphics and particle effects. The game doesn't stutter even when out under pressure in highly intensive scenes and set pieces. The gameplay itself evolved from Remake, with new synergy systems and material for you to use to sweep your foes aside. The story builds from Remake and the original PS1 game, adding some subtle changes and digging deeper into key moments in characters' history, explaining how they got to where they are today. Overall, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, delivers a fantastic experience which any JRPG lover will be glued to. It's a solid game and should be considered one of the stars of the generation.

Sadly, lost the plot

I am old enough to remember the original coming out on the 90s, and Cloud Strife is my first love. I enjoyed remake when it came out. Bought a Ps5 specially for rebirth and regret it. It is a beautiful game, I cannot fault the design, Kalm is stunning and into Junon. But I struggle with the frankly awful dialogue and cheesey moments that make me cringe (Dio and underground prison leader) playing it. I like the FF series for the RPG not open world content. Picking flowers? Really? Being forced into card tournaments? No. I want to follow plot - get Cid and Vincent. But instead I'm wondering how the hell there is two dimensions overlapping with Zack's random appearances. It is beautiful but disappointing to me, a longtime fan.

Masterpiece

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a Masterpiece that captures the essence of the original game while offering a fresh and modern take on the story. It's a must-play for fans of the series and RPG enthusiasts alike. P.S. I plan to purchase it again on PC to experience it in VR. Thanks to UEVR, this is now possible.

Superb remake part 2/3!

Brilliant game, so much content superb characters, monsters and story and great mini games! 3D Brawler mini game was designed by a sadistic maniac. Apart from that 5 stars!

Proper good remake

It was a great remake. The gameplay was good and worked really well the storyline was really complicated but made sence in end definitely worth a buy if your new to final fantasy or an old player

A Brilliant Follow Up To Remake

I can't sing this games praises enough. It's sad to see that it hasn't been getting the amount of attention it deserves. The characters and story have all been expanded far beyond the original with more depth to the world and characters than ever before. Running around the world of Gaia and seeing locations like Junon and Nibelheim in a new light is truly incredible. The combat felt a little off when I started due to it being different from Remake in some ways but once you get used to it, it easily becomes some of the best combat in the series that I hope will adopted by FF17 and expanded. Expect a few deviations from the original story as you get near to the end but it's all setting up for what's to come in the final chapter. I can't wait for part 3!

Amazing game! 100's hrs of content! Wonderful story telling rpg

Rebirth is a beautiful game with outstanding graphical quality. Combat is entertaining and fun. The main story is riveting and emotional. Some of the mini games can be a little irritating but not enough to stop you playing. 100hrs plus of content on a single playthrough. I loved it, absolutely fantastic remake of one of the best games made.

It’s a fun game looks amazing but the story and art direction is not good, wastes a lot of potential. Lots of entertaining side content but also a lot of time wasters and frustrating challenges.

Great with some minor flaws

I thought that the locations and backdrops at the end were a bit forgettable, and the engine has strange moments with the lighting sometimes - but the combat is great, the characters are portrayed well and I think the story is interesting so far.

I just can't play so bad graphics.

I really enjoyed ff7 remake. It was beautiful. But rebirth is 3 times worse graphics. I just can't look at that in 2024 year. I hope they will add optimization to that game.
