PvE is fun until the PvP begins

I really want to enjoy ARC Raiders, but it often feels more like a chore than fun. I mainly play because my friends do. My group is very PvE-focused, and the most enjoyable moments come from the friendly, community-type lobbies that make the game feel like it could be something special. Unfortunately that usually ends when you lose your gear to PvP. The developers say PvP adds tension, but for me it just adds stress. Instead of progressing, I spend most of my time grinding materials to rebuild gear I lose to other players. With the recent drop-rate changes, that grind has only gotten worse. There’s a great idea here, but the heavy PvP focus and constant gear loss make it hard for PvE players like me to enjoy.

Worst purchase, ever

I bought this because I saw other people liked it. But... in solo, just spending all the time looting, then getting killed and losing it all does not make for a fun or compelling game. It's just boring. I wished I could return it after the first 30 minutes of play.

Not fun anymore

Can’t enjoy the game anymore. There’s always campers/rats or people saying they’re friendly and then shooting you in the back. Can’t focus on quest trials without someone interfering really annoying

Overly punishing for such an awful community

Great atmosphere and graphics. Absolutely awful community and controls. You will only be shot in the back, and lose everything. Constantly get hung up on weirdly placed collision boxes, making many getaways impossible. I can't count the amount of times my character refused to run, or dive in the correct direction, directly resulting in my death. Balancing of risk/reward is heavily one sided to the negatives. The game is at it's best when played cooperatively, which is a rarity, often ruined by rats who shoot you in the back. There are absolutely zero consequences for being a rat, I would love to see a bounty system, or a way of tracking those who betray you (which is a daily occurrence). I have run into some great people who will help you, and when that happens I find myself having a lot of fun, unfortunately that happens every 1 out of 10 rounds, if I'm lucky. There are some decent bones here, but the over all experience is just disappointing and often frustrating. Not worth the grind or $40.

Updates might kill the game

Seems to be a devolver trend. Release awesome product and kill it with nerfs and new updates. Just makes crafting items more tedious and not make a lot of sense. I don’t understand the point of adding an awesome powerful weapon that you can hardly use because it’s so difficult to make.

PVP grief makes it hard to enjoy

I understand what they are trying to do.. I think. But, I just want to play the game, enjoy the scenes and shoot bots. Logged in for lunch today, left my spawn point, walked into a bunch of arc. While I am fighting them off, some yahoo I didnt see shoots me. Was in the game less than a minute. That's not fun. Its annoying. I uninstalled. I like the game concept, but the whole 'humanity trying to survive vs the arc' concept is ruined when 'junior pep-pew' joins the lobby just to whack their fellow survivors of humanity and helping the arc win just to take my stuff that I scrounged parts for to make. So, enjoyed everything except the PVP. Would reinstall if they add PVE only options.

A Mile Wide and an Inch Deep

After 600 hours I'm ready to say that I've gotten my moneys worth, but it has also left me totally empty in the end. Without PvE-only options, you'll be shot in the back enough times to realize that the game only rewards the most toxic PvP in the end. The grind leads to nothing. Their aggression matchmaking only works a bit, but no matter how nice you play, you still get plenty of PvP lobbies, often when you need the nice ones the most (for Trials, the only endgame.) And if you're solo, don't bother with Trials. You can't compete. You can queue in with other people, but once again you'll get PvP'd while trying to do them. That feeling of staying up until 1:00am for the map condition you need for a Trial- only to get PvP'd on extract is proof that the devs clearly want you to suffer. They made it this way. It's all for nothing in the end. A game with the most potential in years all thrown away by a toxic player base that the devs have fostered. And they have fostered it; daily rewards for PvP, and every incentive to be the one who shoots first, and no punishment for it. No real escape for those of us who just want to fight only the Arc. If you play the game how the devs clearly intend you to, it's an empty 3rd person PvP shooter game. The loot means nothing, you'll just loot other bodies. Rinse and repeat. So why not just go play a full PvP game? At least then it's a fair fight. And that's the bottom-line, there is no element of this game that ever feels fair. To win you have to be the first to shoot when someone is looting or being attacked by Arc. Even winning feels empty. I don't feel like gunning down someone picking fruit, so I'm done.

Legendary Adventures in a Post Apocalyptic Fallout-like world

ARC Raiders is an amazing and incredibly fun game, absolutely worth the money! The maps, gameplay, design, and challenges are wonderful. Multiplayer is definitely the best, but the more people you play with, the more violent the lobbies. While people can be dangerous, and very annoying sometimes, the lobbies are based on aggression. Be peaceful, find peace!

Separate PVPVE vs PVE

I’m getting so tired of just getting shot in the back out of nowhere trying to run around and do missions and fight arc. Please offer separate experiences. Don’t get me wrong, PVPVE is fun when that’s what you want to do but having options would be nice when you just want to casually enjoy the environment and Arc Enemies.

PvP is killing the game

Due to the increased PvP in the game there has been over a 36.8% drop in players. This will not get any better unless they separate PvE and Pvp lobbies. The game is legit unplayable due to this factor alone. There nothing like grinding 100s of hours into the game just to be killed by rat players with a free loadout and dont work for what they have. All most people are trying to do is complete missions, accomplish tasks, and get good loot to kill arcs. If players want to kill players then they can have there own game mode. I guarantee PvP lobbies will be significantly less than PvE lobbies.

SCAVENGE, SURVIVE, THRIVE

In ARC Raiders, gameplay flows between the surface ruled by lethal machines, and the vibrant underground society of Speranza. Craft, repair, and upgrade your gear in the safety of your own workshop, before venturing topside to scavenge the remnants of a devastated but beautiful world. Play solo or in parties up to three, navigating the constant threat of ARC's machines and the unpredictable choices of fellow survivors. In the end, only you decide what kind of Raider you are - and how far you’ll go to prevail.

EXPLORE AN IMMERSIVE WORLD

Explore four distinct maps at launch, with more to be revealed as the underground society evolves and expands its reach. Each destination carries the weight of a world twice-destroyed, and the scars of conflicts both old and new. Sift through the remnants for valuable loot, and piece together the past as it's slowly reclaimed by nature. Evolving map conditions ensure that no two runs are the same, with varying weather, enemies, and mechanics adding unpredictability and danger.

STAKE YOUR CLAIM

In a society built on boldness and bravado, it is up to you to stake your claim as a Raider. The loot you scavenge can be sold for coin or crafted into all-new gear, allowing you take on increasingly lethal dangers head-on. Through both victories and hardships, you'll gain valuable experience; unlocking varied skills that enable all-new ways of play. In addition, you'll complete quests for Traders with differing motives and agendas; uncovering both the friction and comradery of a community under constant threat of collapse.

BEWARE THE MACHINES

Lethal machines known as ARC rule the surface, ranging from unrelenting drone swarms to mechanical giants that obliterate everything in their path. Their origins remain a mystery, but their ever-present danger is felt with every step you take. Each machine comes with distinct strengths and tactics, forcing you to pinpoint their weak spots and constantly think on your feet. And remember: the noise of battle carries.

FORGE YOUR OWN PATH

Raiders survive by kitbashing scavenged materials; using long-lost tech and looted ARC parts to craft weapons, gadgets, and gear. Upgrade your workshop stations and learn blueprints to craft even more advanced items, or improvise quick fixes in the field to get yourself out of a bind. As you make a name for yourself, you'll be able to measure your skill against other Raiders by taking on Trials; rising through the leaderboards to earn valuable rewards.

QUESTS

In Speranza, everyone has an agenda, and the Traders are no different. They’ll send you topside on missions in exchange for rewards, slowly revealing more about who they are and what they want for Speranza’s future. Complete quests to earn gear, crafting materials, and XP to level up your Raider and unlock new skill points.

SKILL TREE

The ARC Raiders skill tree branches into three paths: Survival, Mobility, and Conditioning. Spend your points to shape your playstyle. Loot faster and move quieter with Survival skills. Outmaneuver your opponents and threats with Mobility. And enhance your Strength and Stamina with Conditioning. Choose how you grow and what your Raider brings to the battle.

BUILD YOUR ARSENAL

Whether you’re preparing to take down specific ARC enemies or fend off rival Raiders, there's a choice of weaponry for every fight. Cater to your style with a range of firearms including SMGs, rifles and shotguns, as well as more advanced options such as railguns and energy weapons. Grenades, traps, ziplines and deployables offer the tactical depth needed to outsmart your enemies, while augments allow you to tailor your loadout to your preferred playstyle; unlocking additional gameplay perks.
