Unbalanced PvP makes trying to play to higher levels just unfun

ARC Raiders is a beautifully crafted game. The world design, atmosphere, and core PvE combat are genuinely engaging and show a ton of care and polish. Unfortunately, the PvP integration severely undermines the PvE experience at higher levels. The time investment required to grind the loot needed for late-game PvE—especially to build and maintain epic or high-tier weapons—is substantial. Hours of careful play can be wiped out instantly by PvP players who ambush you while looting, extracting, or simply double cross you. I get that is part of the game that people will say is what PvPvE is all about, but what makes this especially frustrating is that these players can roll in with essentially free kits that are still more than enough to kill someone who’s been grinding for hours. The first-shooter advantage in ARC Raiders is massive. If you don’t play with a constant shoot-on-sight mindset, you’re almost guaranteed to die—and lose everything. That kind of pressure actively discourages cooperation, exploration, or any kind of measured PvE play, even though those are some of the game’s strongest elements. A solution seems obvious: separate PvP-only boards and PvE-only boards. Let players who enjoy PvP go all in, and let PvE-focused players experience the game without constantly dealing with dill weeds who turn every encounter into a grief fest. ARC Raiders has incredible potential, but right now the forced PvP is holding it back.

One of the best games I've played in a while

This game for the non triple A game it is, is really great. Never do I feel like its trying to score more money from me. The devs definitely care about the game they made.

Toxic

Careful as there's a toxic community that just camp while you're just trying to do the missions. Matchmaking is not good as even if you go in solo you stand the likelihood of getting taken out by a squad. There should be a separate pvp vs pve.

Kinda sucks now

It was fun at first, now teams just camp in the walls, wait for you to loot everything, and then they shoot you in the back and take everything. It's so glitched it's broken, and now they cheaters use discord to group chat so they can't get reported for talking trash as they glitch. It would be fun if streamers would stop teaching people how to camp and be turds. It's not really pvp, it's just cheaters killing everything. I got shot through the ground while fighting a queen today. The hardest boss and someone went under the map and just killed us all. There's no point in playing it anymore.

Incredible Experience

This is the first extraction shooter I have gotten into. It's approachable even for more casual players like myself - except now I'm sucked in so maybe not that casual. Yes, there's PVP but queuing solo 9/10 players are friendly if you are friendly to them. The graphics, sound design, and gameplay are all 5 stars. There could be some quality of live improvements made to the UI and crafting. This game is even playable on a PS Portal via your console or Cloud Streaming and I've had quite a few successful solo extracts playing this way. Nearly every match I come out with a new story that happened organically during gameplay I'm excited to tell a friend about.

boring

Loot. Extract. The end. At least have an interesting game mechanic if you want me to do chores. Clunky, empty, and forgettable.

PvP Broken

I’d wait to buy until they fix glitches and PvP. I have no issue with pvp and getting smacked around, but it’s not fun getting murdered by folks who teleport through walls, use exploits, etc. if they fix that nonsense, it could be decent

Ignore the haters

I spent 20 hours dealing shrooms in the swamp. The game is as fun as you make it.

Hard for New and Solo Players

Beginners start with weaker gears and can lose items to stronger players, making early progress difficult. Although the game says it can be played solo, solo players are matched against other players, who might be groups, so without a dedicated solo or PvE mode, I may uninstall the game due to the time and cost of grinding.
