Personally, I loved the game but more from a story stand point. That whole experience was enjoyable and I'm glad I played it. Other pros would include the banger of a soundtrack. The voice acting was exceptionally good. Visually it's amazing and created some epic boss fights with cinematics. The combat was mostly fun. You can kind of just pick your favorite abilities and move on though. This left more to be desired. The downsides. The world feels dead. They make large areas that 1000s of people should live but you have like 3 npcs standing around. When you don't fast travel and you are fighting through an area is very boring. Visually stunning... but its essentially a tunnel you stay contained in and fight through. Reminds me of how they do dungeons in ffxiv. Even if its not open world it shouldn't just be a straight line... let me get lost. Gear and upgrades had to have been after thought as every new piece you find has better stats. There's no real importance. I think thats my biggest gripe is the amount of hand holding they decided to put in this game. It's very streamlined for you to complete the story. Are the fights still fun? Absolutely but they could have been better with elemental weaknesses and such from the abilities you get. There's a lot of decisions they made that seem to be more for people's first final fantasy experience, but this shouldn't be at the expense of experienced players. Like I'm not upset its not turn based or lack of a party. It's just outside the story or boss fights.. its bland. For me, the story and bosses were strong enough to beat the msq but I can see it not being for everyone.
