    Where did it go wrong?

I want to preface this by saying that I have been a fan of Tekken starting with the 3rd one and at some point I've probably been able to go back and play the 2nd one so this franchise has been a staple in my life since childhood. With that being said I have no clue what is happening to this franchise now. For the last couple of installments it has felt like something has been off but I just haven't been able to put my finger on it. Now I feel like its coming to a head with Tekken 8. I recently purchased 8 and I'm still figuring things out but so far my mind is boggled and not in a good way. Everything seems to revolve around this heat system which feels like it just complicates things instead of allowing for combat to flow normally. Plus the focus on aerial combat has made it so matches have basically been reduced to who can keep someone in the air longer. The move list just looks foreign and out of place with all these subdivision lists when it used to be just one concentrated list and you used what you wanted and went from there. Now you have to involve the heat system no matter what you do and it just feels kind of tedious. When they introduced the rage art I was fine with it because it just meant that everyone in Tekken finally got a set special move that felt all grandiose like other fighting games which was cool. But now it just feels like the company is throwing a bunch of random stuff in the game that isn't needed. I'm gonna keep playing cause its still early days but so far I am not loving this experience.

    No LEI WULONG.

What a tragic mistake. I wish I had done a Google search before buying this version of Tekken but I NEVER thought they would remove one of the three most popular characters. Unbelieveable. Wish I could get my money back and buy Tekken 3.
