Some parts are enjoyable, but other aspects kill the game.

I have well over a thousand hours into this game as I am writing this review. While some aspects of the game are fun, some of the huge things that kills this game for myself and many others are the bugs. Don’t get me wrong, some of the bugs are cool. But the game crashing when you’re well into a deep run for high rounds (300+) and it NOT making you a backup save file, running the Easter egg on round 100 or doing cursed mode and trying to get relics only to crash or get disconnected ruins the experience and puts a bitter taste in my mouth. Not to mention I spent hours grinding myself a maxed out character for endgame and I beat the final boss only to attempt to change skins and not have the skin unlocked and then my character’s combat rating and stats disappeared. Glitches like this that set the player back hours of the grind can be infuriating. I have a full time job and a family, and grinding games is a hobby of mine aside that I will spend my precious and limited time on because I enjoy it, but when my grind goes down the toilet and I lose progress, it is extremely upsetting and demoralizing because I’m thinking, wow, I could’ve spent this time with my family or trying to find a side hustle, or meal prepped for the gym and work. I like spending my time to get stuff. And in game that is accomplishing what I want done and leveling up. So to lose that is like being robbed, but of my time that could’ve been spent elsewhere. Just like the money I spent on this game hoping it would’ve been good could’ve gone elsewhere. When you invest in something, and time is a resource and therefore an investment, you want to accomplish something or gain something from your investment. And this game has so many ways to rob you of your investment. Sometimes I regret the over a thousand hours spent on this game, I know I will go back as it is a way of me spending time with my friends and socializing that is easy to handle with us having separate lives and schedules, but man if only we could mutually agree on something else other than this game that could just throw our effort in the garbage because it feels like it. If I mess up and lose because I make a mistake or am not skilled enough, that is different. But for the game to rob me in a way that is not intentionally designed into the game, that is unfair and nonsense. If you buy this game to play with others, have fun. But if you like to grind games, do not expect a fair grind because this game can take it all away without it being a skill issue.

We waited 13 years for THIS??

Highly disappointing and not fun at all. If you want to be frustrated with crap Multiplayer and a Filler Campaign then by all means waste your money. I should've gotten Battlefield 6 instead. The direct sequel to Black Ops 2 is terrible.

Disappointing

I bought the game discounted hoping it was alright, I feel like the game is now not balanced even though the game only came out a month ago. If I could I’d go back on it. The game is now adding such advanced movement I’m old school on BO2 and these past COD are absolutely horrible. I’m glad they went back to BOG but again movement is to advanced, at this point I’d rather play advanced warfare than this. Some of the newer COD’s such as MW (2019) wasnt as bad nor MW3 (2024). This honestly needs to feel fun now it’s just sweats or just plain advanced to my likings

It's a Trap!

The last Call of Duty I bought was Black Ops III, which allowed for local co-op, 4-player split-screen v. bots. That was fun to play with my wife and kids. This is the first one since to offer "offline" 4-player split-screen, so my family was excited to buy it. In the review videos and articles I found online, nowhere did it mention that you are REQUIRED to have a Playstation Plus subscription to play all offline modes. I only found that out after downloading, and naturally, Playstation won't refund the purchase. Call of Duty is as shameless as Madden. Both franchises have lost my business forever.

I cant believe cod got this bad

I cant believe cod got this bad. I've purchased every cod since the Original PS2 days. There have been some weird and bad ones, but this is in the top 3 of the worst. AAA/QUALITY EXPERIENCE? 4/10 The voice acting is on par of a 3A title, it's evident that it was made by a studio with a-lot of money to throw at it. They have actual actors involved in the project and they have an experience that overall isn't laced with bugs and game breaking issues. On a standpoint of a stable game, it passes. But as we know, money can't buy everything and they spent a-lot to make something that's just not that enjoyable. Gameplay: 2.5/10 The game took what was a decent fluid cod engine and somehow dropped it. I have no idea how you take what was kind of working and make it this. This feels like one of those games that a dev allows another crappy dev to make on the side of their flagship AAA game to cash in on the IP. Campaign 2/10. Played through the campaign with some friends , we all agreed it was so bad that it was almost comical. Even when it made sense story wise, it didn't make sense lol. Such a bad, uninspired story and such a baddddddd campaign. This feels like store brand cheap trash. If this were a movie it would be a crappy , low budget made for tv - straight to dvd production. PS: Once you complete the campaign you do get access to an open world zombies experience that is kind of interesting, but they of course have put almost no love into it and there is really no "risk" thrill involved. Its like when DMZ was introduced and they just didn't do anything with it. Cool idea, poor implementation. Multiplayer 2/10 Cod is supposed to be a top tier FPS twitch shooting experience. This time it isn't. This is another instance of wall bouncing , non-interesting, uninspired, throw crap at a wall and see what sticks type of call of duty. They took one of the worst mechanics , made it a little more "fair" and slapped it onto a weak experience.(Wall jumping) How did they let this happen?! Cods gunplay is better than a-lot of other engines but this one took what we expect from a game that could be a competitive FPS experience and watered it down with cheap gimmicks, unbalanced guns, and unresolved online issues. (Spawns, map rotations, etc) SO with all that , what do they do ? They bring back NUKETOWN for the 20th time and you paid almost $80 to do that again ..... So yeah. zombies 5/10 Zombies is the only thing that is kind of redeeming here, but even then its turned into a joke. Zombies is a typical new age approach to the repetitive arcade style game, which on its own and isolated is fine. Its NOTHING exciting and its NOTHING to even really buy into. If you want to play this iteration of zombies wait for it to go on a DEEP sale and even then think twice.

Don't waste your money. The "co-op" campaign is crap and the MP is a joke. This coming from someone that has bought every CoD since game 1.

Awful

I have played every Call of Duty since World at War and I can say without hesitation that this game is the worst by a mile. Campaign is so bad it’s borderline painful, online gameplay stinks and zombies may be the worst in the franchise. This is the worst COD I’ve ever played and maybe even the worst video game I have ever played. I would get a refund if I could because I feel pain every time I’m reminded that I paid for this atrocious game.
