Campaign Only Player

I only play Call of Duty for the campaign. I do not play multiplayer games and never will. I mean I did back in high school but since then it's become a solo hobby. Never so much as started a match in COD. Call of Duty is that fun military shooter with massive set pieces and some crazy political story I'm only ever slightly invested in but I love playing it every year. I'll crank the difficulty up to Veteran, get all the collectibles, and get a decent amount of time out of it. What makes this game so disappointing and even infuriating is that the developers have proceeded to try and blend the single player and multiplayer together and as someone who doesn't like multiplayer, this is a terrible experience. Every couple minutes there's an obnoxious wave of a guitar slide and drums hitting to tell (and show) you that you've just upgraded to a new level with said weapon. Now, I'm not opposed to having weapon upgrades in the context of the story and the campaign but this is literally giving you upgrades for the multiplayer and the constant wave of sounds and visuals you get with each upgrade takes you out of the experience each and every time. The other issue I take is this campaign is specifically designed around coop. Problem here is they can't create these big action, very specific moments for you because they have to account for up to 4 other players to be present as well. This also means that if you choose to play solo, you hear the other main characters in your headset and they're there in the cutscenes but as soon as the level starts, you are completely alone. At the very least they could have made those characters present as AI partners but instead they opt to not include them at all so you have these moments happen where someone says "We have to get out of here!" but as you look around, it's just you there each and every time. I've always loved Call of Duty campaigns and how they bring in other solders or side characters on each level so it feels like you're fighting along side others to achieve a very specific experience and fight different battles in different locations. Yes I am aware you're supposed to have this experience with other actual people but gaming to me is much more akin to reading a book than a social event. I sit down to play games to take a break from the day to day elements of life and the last thing I want to do is coordinate schedules and try and meet new people online so I much prefer scripted, catered moments in games than the "make your own fun" approach. My advice to the developers would be to let us have a solid single player campaign. 99% of people buy this just for the multiplayer already so if you're going to include a campaign, make it a full experience for people to have on their own because the people who play the campaign do it because it's a single player experience. When they want to play with friends, there's a whole entire world in matchmaking for them. This is a yearly event for me and I'm really disappointed that I have to wait an entire year just to hopefully get a fun experience. Sadly I spent full price to have a few hours of mild fun wishing this could have been something better. Forcing this to be online only, not allowing the player to pause, and no difficulty selection are other annoyances as well. I have played and truly enjoyed each and every Call of Duty campaign since Modern Warfare and have even replayed some. Black Ops 7 is the first I've ever thought that maybe this would have been left on the idea board. I will never play this game again and it is by far, my least favorite Call of Duty ever made.

Impossible to play solo

Forget playing solo in the campaign - no CPU teammates like in BO6 and every previous COD game, kicked for inactivity in the middle of a gunfight because the online only requirement is insanely aggressive, no checkpoints, YOU CAN'T PAUSE THE GAME IN THE CAMPAIGN PLAYING SOLO. Hope you don't have to go to the bathroom. This game represents the worst of everything in the game industry.

A continuation of previous one, BO6

Zombies scenary too dark, game menus looks and feel kind of cheap, If I could choose the previous version menus I'd do instantly. Dont make people pay you for current game DLC, that what is BO7.

Why change up?

Why did they change up from Blk Ops 6? In case they haven’t noticed it, ppl don’t like all this futuristic gameplay jumping around, running 20mph and doing special moves. The gameplay in 6 was perfect! All it was missing is multiplayer campaign. All they had to do was make 7 a continuation of that with Multiplayer campaign! Why is it so hard for developers to understand that simple is better!? Really disappointed because I loved Blk Ops 6 but they dropped the ball on this one

Cash grab

Played for an hour. It’s just not Call of Duty anymore. Campaign is lacking a compelling narrative and feels tedious to play through. Multiplayer is just a rehash of the old game, but with double jump. I will likely be asking for a refund and playing bf6 instead

Weak Multiplayer Offering

I truly enjoyed BO6 - Hundreds of hours playing 24/7 Nuketown and Stakeout, Hundreds of hours playing prop hunt. The in game physics here feels off. The game modes are limited. The weapons selection is lame. I can't believe they killed of the best parts of BO6 to push us into......this.
